Welcome Back to GMA! The new school year has begun and fall is right around the corner. This will be a great year with many new programs in place to stimulate and educate your children. We will continue our authentic Montessori curriculum, with the addition of new lessons and work for the children to learn. Our cultural lessons will be based on a different area or continent each month. This month, we will learn about The Peaceful Classroom, Human Needs, Parts of the Body, The Senses, Emotions, and all about our individual families, interests, and hobbies. Classes start at 8:30 each morning with line time at 8:45. Please be sure to be here by 8:45 so your children will be able to participate in line time. If your child arrives after 8:45, they need to come to the office until line time is over to avoid disrupting the class.

School is closed on Monday, Sept. 6th for Labor Day! Enjoy your long weekend!

The Primary Rooms (3-6 yrs) will go on a field trip to The Peace Pavilion on Thursday, Sept.23rd. Sign & return permission slips by Sept.17th. Please arrive no later than 8:30am and should return around 1:30pm. Parent volunteers are always welcome and appreciated! Please bring a sack lunch and drink. We require all children to wear their GMA T-shirts to all field trips. This just helps to easily identify all of our students. New students receive a T-shirt on enrollment. If you wish to purchase another T-shirt, they are available for $15 and come intwo sizes: XS (2-4) & S (6-8).

On Thursday, Sept.16th, we are having a Parent Night here at GMA! This will be an opportunity to learn more about the areas of the classroom, the daily schedule, and what your child will be working on the classroom. It is also a chance to ask questions and meet with the teacher and other parents. The Toddler Room & Galaxy Room session is from 6:00- 6:45pm. The Rainbow Room Session is from 7:00-7:45pm.  Children are welcome in the classroom or childcare will be provided in the Power & Light Room if you sign up ahead of time.

Please plan to attend the first Co-op meeting of the school year! It will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30th in conjunction with our Annual Back-to-School Picnic at Loose Park at 6:00pm. The school will provide the main course and we ask each family to sign up to bring sides, desserts, or drinks. A sign-up sheet is posted on the bulletin board above the sign-in book.
