Now our bean seeds are really taking off. Some have grown leaves already! By next week there should be more that have leaves and we will be planting them on friday, but if you want to take them home and plant them there instead, that would be fine.
We finished our tour of Africa this week. Ask your kids how do you say hello in Africa? (Jambo) We also sang an African song, how does it go?(Yan-ka-lo-ba he-ey Yan-ka-lo-ba) It is a song that is done with a group and when the tribes men sing this
song they sit and do it to a clapping beat. We also talked a lot about Egypt. What are the big triangles in Egypt called? (pyramids) What are the pyramids used for? (a tomb) What is inside of a beautiful and golden sarcophagus? (a mummy ~ King Tut)
What are the beautiful symbols on the walls called? (hieroglyphs) Next week we will travel to Australia!
Our sound of the week was "str". A popular share day item was stripes on a zebra and tiger. Next week will be "scr".
We are taking a field trip to the Zoo next Thursday, so try to wear your Global t-shirts, I'll be wearing mine :)
